I think York is my new favourite place! I have just spent three days researching my third novel and I can’t wait to return. My schedule was packed, and I did a pretty good job of seeing many of the key sites in the time I had – including Castle Museum, Clifford’s Tower, Jorvik, the Minster and Treasurer’s House – but there is still so much more to see! I’ll bet, though, that not many people include the James Street Traveller site on their tour of the city. But those of you who know the storyline of ‘No Stone Unturned’ (my second novel to be published by A&C Black next year), will know that one of my central characters is Kelly Hearn, a 13-year-old Traveller. Kelly reappears in a follow-up story, set in York and I am hoping that she and her family can get a site in James Street! It’s walking distance from the centre of York with all its fascinating history and ghostly goings on. I just know that Kelly would love it there!
